In the context of a European’s Innovation Support Call named Galatea, ADS Process worked with Interdrones Services to provide with Nuuk SafeSea360°. The Galatea open call aim was to empower Port, Ships and Maritime Surveillance with innovation from the digital world.
ADS Process conceived and administrated during demonstration the local network infrastructure to gather all streams from Interdrones Services' air, ground and sea drones to a point where all streams could be reviewed and at the same time a relay to send all the streams to Nuuk’s collaborative platform. Its expertise also enabled the choice of relevant video encoders according to the network constraints, the administration and conception of the network infrastructure and the setup of an embedded server enabling the orchestration of all these elements for the ergonomic usage of ground stations.
As the demonstration scenario was about a firefighter intervention on a crisis zone in a port, we decided to demonstrate an independent network infrastructure, meaning that no reliance on 4G/LTE/5G communication was necessary for us to gather all streams and show them to the firefighter in charge of the intervention.
The central server station was also the relay to Nuuk real-time collaborative platform. A VPN was established to provide through LTE/5G secured link the set of streams. Nuuk’s platform being in the cloud, it enabled the involvement of entities outside of the crisis area.
This setup was successfully demonstrated during deployments at La Rochelle and Biblao port. This development enabled the finalization for Interdrones Services of products such as ground stations with visualization, routing and embedded computation aimed at firefighters of Gironde, Landes and Pyrénées-Atlantique french departments.
In the context of the implementation of one of its prototypes Seaturns asked ADS Process to design a data gathering solution to ensure the acquisition of all the sensors and the aggregation of external measurement such as weather data. The goal was to create a database of all the parameters of their prototype and the condition around it on a common time basis.
ADS Process proposed a solution embedded in the prototype at Brest and a server to regularly download the newest acquisitions at Seaturns at Bordeaux. Several choices were implemented to secure the data :
Based on this network infrastructure, Seaturns successfully gathered months of acquisition that represent hundreds of gigabytes of data while losing almost no data. The prototype has notably lived a decennial storm and still, no human intervention was needed to guaranty the upload of data.
This solution was implemented in a short time to the specific needs of Seaturns while also adapting to Kitewinder needs in its participation in the prototype implementation thus demonstrating ADS Process ability to use software prototyping tools in order to deliver quickly a nevertheless resilient solution to handle big amount of data.
